Originally from Zurich, Switzerland I have been living and working in Ireland for many years. After having worked as a translator in Dublin, I changed my career path completely and studied Fine Art at IADT in Dun Laoghaire where I graduated in 2001 – a turning point in my life. Whole new worlds opened up to me and I stepped into them with a deep sense of connection and of coming home. I have been working as a professional artist ever since, whilst raising a family and teaching at various universities, colleges and in the corporate world. In 2017 I fulfilled a long-held dream of doing an MA in art history at University College Dublin, an inspiring course on Italian art and architecture with particular focus on Venice, Rome and Florence. I discovered the great Renaissance and Baroque artists as well as the Roman past. Whereas my previous college years in Fine Art were the pathways to modern art, walking through the art historical gates of Italian Renaissance and Baroque has opened up a vista to the past. Looking back, I love to search for connections between the two worlds and creating convergence points in my current work.
There were many months or even years when life required me to stop working as an artist. Yet, I have always returned to my true north, the creative process, that allows me to step out of clock-time and dive deeply into the timeless embrace of colour and line.
